Characters/Feature of managements


i)              Universal practices
The principal and practices of management are universal in nature. They are requires in all type of organization i.e. business, social, governmental, army, university, hospital, etc. they are found in all the fields of human life, whether mangering family affairs or running a club. Thus, basic principles of management are not only applicatable to business but also to other organizations. However, these principal are flexible and they can be modified to suit different situations.
ii)             Goal ordained
Every organization has specific goals and objectives to be achieve. The main concern of all management activities is how ti achieve these goals. Management attempt to achieve economic, social and human objectives, the primary goals of management is to ensure efficiency and economy in the utilization of available resources. Without management, it may not be easy to achieve the specific goals of an organization. Therefore, management is an effective means to achieve the pre-determined goals.
iii)            Group activities
Management is a group activities. It is only applicable if there are two or more individuals works together to achieves the common goals. Management always attempts to coordinate the effort of the group's members. It aims at subordinating individual interest to group interest.
iv)           Dynamic process
Management is a dynamic process its it helps an organization to make adjustments according to need, time and situation by modifying its objectives, policies, strategies, procedures and programs. Management a involves adaption of an organization to change in its environment and modifying the environment for the benefit of the organization. Therefore, management is a constantly growing process.
v)            Multi-disciplinary production
Management is a multi-national subject drawing knowledge from various disciplines like mathematics, economic, psychology, sociology, political sciences, law and other disciplines. Much of the management literature is results of the application of these social.
vi)           Art and Sciences
Management by nature is both an art as well as science. It makes use of organized knowledge (science) and applies it in the light of realities and new challenges (art) faced by an organization to achieve the desired results. Scientific principal helps to improved the technique of managing the application of knowledge or know-how-to-art.
