Principles of management

The principles are the base, guidelines and   theories   that  directs  or  guides   toward future Courses of actions. The principles are fundamental statement of truth ,such types  of truth are  followed  by the  people (managers) to execute  their  activities .
According to hicks ,"Principles  of management are the guiding  rules of laws for management Action".
According to George terry," principles can be defined as fundamental statement of truth Providing a guide to thought and action."
Based on such definitions, we can concluding that  the principles  are the guidelines or bases on the  basic of which all the managerial activities are performed .
In management .we can find out two types of principles .
1.    Descriptive principle.
2.    Prescriptive principle.

Nature/characters/

The principles of management consists different features or characters which are:
1.goal oriented :
the principles are providing guidelines to achieve the goals or objectives in effective way.

2.cause and effects relationship:
The  principles of management always shows cause and effect relations that means if we change certain types of input variables or activities of management  then it should effect on the  output variables or results.

3)    Dynamic and situational:
The principles of management should not be static or same in all situations rather these should be dynamic and situational. We can modify and apply the principles of management according to the size, nature, internal, environment, external, environmental forces, etc.

4)     influencing the human behavior or aspects:
Management principles should be able to influence human behavior .the management should
Know desires, wants needs etc of the workers of employees  and  should  try to fulfill such elements scale of management success.
5)       Universally aspect




The objectives or needs of principles of management can be explained with the help of following  points:
1.to achieve the goals of organization.
2.To make similarities of the activities in organization.
3.to focus managerial allantion.
        The principles of management provide guidelines or ideas to the managers about their courses of action. For e.g: formulation of policy is to be made by top level where as implementation of the same should be made by lower levels managers.
4.to increase managerial efficiency and productivity.
5.to facilitate education and trainings to the managers employees.
6.to attains social goals and responsibilities.
7.to support research and development in the organization.
